Ray Petri , remains one of the most influential stylist in fashion; 20 years after his death. Petri brought street fashion into the mainstream.  Petri was one of the masterminds behind the Buffalo style. Buffalo quietly defined the look of 80s youth culture, especially in the UK, and this legacy of an uncompromisingly urban style has since inspired legions of designers, stylists, and photographers who were part of the gang, but who absorbed and understood the images and references and made them their own in cities the world over.

Photographer Jamie Morgan who worked with Petri said “What Buffalo did was to try to create its own agenda outside the fashion system. We were interested in the images and the attitude. Yes, we loved the style and the fashion but that was just part of it. We would use an Armani jacket because we liked the cut, not because of the label. What Buffalo helped to create was a force outside the establishment.”
